Not a statue, but a real-life (costumed) General Grant who is somewhere in town. Armed with initial historic clues, teams will explore Galena (optionally on e-bikes), solving puzzles and completing engaging objectives along the way to earn subsequent clues. But be quick – Grant is on the move, and clues may only be valid for a limited time! Objectives might include cracking a historical code or even a fun directive to pause for a “strategy session” over a themed beverage at a partner establishment.

7. River Riddle Rally: Galena Kayak & Puzzle Challenge 

  • The Challenge: It’s a blend of brains and brawn on the scenic Galena River! Teams will embark on an approximately 2-hour kayaking journey. Along the route, they’ll encounter three distinct puzzle stations. At each, they must work together to solve the puzzle and collect a unique key. The first team to successfully navigate the course, solve all puzzles, and return with all three keys (and all their team members!) wins bragging rights.
