You start at our store location. We pick you up on a bus and take you to our private launch site. Looking for an all-day outdoor activity? Get away from everyone and everything on this 8-hour paddle down The Galena River. You meet us at Nuts Outdoors in Galena, IL. We shuttle you to New Diggins, Wi and you end your trip at the docks in Galena a block from our store location. You won’t feel like you are in Illinois for this trip. You probably won’t even feel like you are in the 21st century.
You will cross through a landscape of limestone bluffs, prairies, rolling hills, and herds of cattle. You are likely to see deer, eagles, muskrat, beaver, and other animals along the way.
The current will take you downstream, but this is certainly a trip for people in good health, with some physical endurance and willingness to be on the water for 8-hours. This is a great trip for groups, birthday parties, bachelor, and bachelorette parties.

Things To Know:
- This trip is down a public waterway that goes through farms. You might see cows in the water. Just approach slowly, do not try to startle them and go around them slowly.
- This trip may involve an electric cattle fence. Just use your paddle to slide under the fence at the center of the river. The electric fence is not dangerous and uses a safe current to keep the cattle in their grazing area. Ask staff the day of your trip about any questions.
